Owners James and Karen Fain have been carefully crafting their Tennessee style barbecue for over a decade. Demand for their distinctive hickory smoke flavor and savory vinegar base sauces led the couple to open up their Knoxville inspired restaurant in 2011 in Houston's Meyerland district. With an opportunity to expand their unique cooking style, the couple opened a Tennessee style barbecue restaurant in Sawyer Yards, located at the heart of Houston's historic First Ward and thriving art communities. Like the handcrafting artisans in Gatlinburg, James and Karen have taken their passion for barbecue beyond the pit to include elements of smoke in vegetarian and vegan dishes so that Fainmous BBQ can offer its exclusive flavor to a broader customer base where everyone is treated like family!
